Part 11 of The Complete Girl Scout Guide to Traveling to Savannah, Georgia
Our girls are 11 & 12 years old and all but one of them have their own cell phone. I told them ahead of time that phones were not allowed to be used while we were in any activity unless it was for taking photos! They weren’t allowed to use their phones while we ate either. Otherwise their phone usage was not restricted. We didn’t have any problems with electronics on our trip and I was happy to see the girls taking photos of their favorite activities. I even made a fun photo scavenger hunt for the girls to complete on the trip. They used the map apps on their phones to help navigate the group around Savannah and learned how useful technology can be when they used it responsibly. I didn’t expect any problems from our group but we did prepare them in advance with cell phone etiquette and expectations.
You can view a copy of our Cell Phone Policy & Code of Conduct that we shared with our girls prior to the trip. It’s pretty basic information and expectations.
