This is a great idea for those tiny little rocks left at the bottom of your bag that are too small for regular paintings. Replace boring flash cards with fun painted rocks to help your little one with their math and numbers. For the smaller toddlers you can leave out the math symbols and use them to help with number recognition. For your younger elementary children adding and subtraction facts can be practiced. My daughter is in 3rd grade and practicing their multiplication facts and starting to work on division. You may want to have a few sets of numbers as the problems get harder. For my Florida rock painting friends (or for anyone with family members in the state of Florida) have you started saving for your child's (or grandchildren's) college yet? It's open enrollment ... I'm sure by now you've heard about Kindness Rocks and seen some of the fun painted rocks that people are finding around your community. Painted Rock Challenge – November 2017
It's almost November! That means the holiday season is quickly approaching and I'm sure you have a lot of fun ideas for Thanksgiving and Christmas for your painted rocks. Over the next 1-2 weeks I'll be getting a headstart of the December calendar and I'll be posting some smaller holiday themed mini-challenges! These mini-challenges will be holiday specific and will have between 10-20 different ideas. The November challenge isn't overly heavy in Thanksgiving themes since I'll be posting the mini-challenge by the end of the week. As always, these challenges can be completed in any order and at any speed. They are just for fun and to help give you ideas on what to paint. For many of you these challenges help you expand your confidence and try something out of your comfort zone. While I don't always get the entire month painted myself, I love watching all of you and seeing how these themes are interpreted by others. I didn't create a simple version (kid-friendlier version) this month ... [ Read More ]
Painted Rock Challenge – October 2017
Hello again rock friends!! I hope you're having a rocking good day! How many times have you refreshed the page today hoping to see the latest list? Thanks for being so patient as I enjoyed a relaxing Saturday with the family. In addition to a little rock painting, our Saturday's are spent watching college football (Go Dawgs!!) October was a fun list to create!! We love Halloween here and I cannot wait to see all your spooky and fun rocks this month. In addition, I created a new "easier" version for newbies and kids! While I labeled it "For Kids," the themes are just a little easier than the original challenge list and open for anyone to paint. I know my daughter loves to paint with me and others have said that some of the challenge themes are too complicated or hard for little kids. I hope they love the new kids list and I can't wait to see their work too. Please feel free to share this post on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or anywhere you happen to be. If you’re posting your rock ... [ Read More ]
Painted Rock Challenge – August 2017
It's time!!! Tomorrow is the first day of August and the first day of the next Painted Rock Challenge. I am still struggling personally to complete ALL 30-31 rocks each month. I'd love to say that August is my month, but with school starting back next week I know the likelihood of that actually happening is pretty slim! ...but I will try! The only thing that keeps me going is seeing all your beautiful and creative painted rocks each day. Your requests for me to keep this going. I'm so thankful for each of you! Some fun dates this month include Ice Cream Sandwich Day (Aug 1st), National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (Aug 4th), Left Handed Day (Aug 13th), and National Honey Bee Day (Aug 19th). School is also starting back this month in many states (my kids start back next week) and football is starting up again! Have you joined our private Facebook ... [ Read More ]
