Do you have a little girl (or a little boy who rocks pinks and purples)? Today Thirsties adds a few new items to their collection of cloth diapers. They have added a new purple color, Iris, and a revamped print, Alice Brights. Alice Brights has been retired for quite a few years now, but has been revamped with poppy and iris colors. The trend this year with cloth diaper companies is to freshen up their color palette and Thirsties has done a great job with that task. While some of the soft "baby" colors remain, they are now complemented with some brighter, more vivid colors. As we near the end of summer, Iris, Poppy, and Alice Brights are the perfect transition from Summer to Fall. Alice Brights is available in the Duo Wrap, One-Size AIO, One-Size Pocket, Newborn AIO, and wet bag. The mailman delivered a wet bag to me today, but my daughter has already stolen it and filled it with toys! That's what I get for asking her to get the mail for me. Iris is available in the Duo ... The Secrets of Cloth Diapering
This post is sponsored by Project Pomona and you can enter to win some amazing prizes (over $1200 worth) if you scroll to the bottom! Good luck! I have a huge secret for you... Cloth diapering a baby is easy! If you're new to cloth diapering and just starting to do your research you may be a little overwhelmed. I'm going to share with you some of my secrets so that you won't be scared any longer! I promise, you can do this!! 1. Start with the basics! There are a LOT of different styles of cloth diapers, but the main ones you need to know in the beginning are pocket diapers, all-in-one diapers, and diaper covers with prefolds. Pocket diapers are the most popular style because they are so versatile. All-in-ones are the easiest style and the style that is most like a disposable diaper; however they tend to cost the most. Covers with prefolds are the "old fashioned" style diaper and the most cost effective. Pick the style that best suits your financial and personal preferences ... [ Read More ]
Celebrate Diversity & Unity Through Cloth Diapers #ClothCommunity
Join us February 2nd as we celebrate the cloth diapering community. It's a day in which parents everywhere celebrate our diversities and our unity. #ClothCommunity Day is a campaign brought to you from many of your favorite cloth diaper bloggers. I have to give most of the credit to Mindy (Inquisitive Mom) for organizing the communities efforts to bring this to life. As a community, we've been online for 6+ years chatting about cloth diapers on our blogs and social media. My own journey with cloth began 6 years ago when my daughter was born and I reached out to the internet to research this new, modern cloth diaper. It's really funny to go back and read some of my early cloth diaper posts. I was just like many new moms that I encounter on a daily basis - nervous, confused, overwhelmed, and full of questions! You can laugh along with me here, and here, and here if you like. It was back then that I formed some of the friendships with other bloggers, companies, and readers. It's ... [ Read More ]

Can't you just smell the new baby smell? Ok, focus...and try to convince yourself that you don't want another newborn. ...but if you are pregnant, expecting, or planning on having a newborn anytime soon, Thirsties has a brand new diaper just for you! When Thirsties released their new one-size all-in-one last year, people were concerned that they would no longer have a small newborn option. The OS AIO begins fitting around 8-10 lbs but one-size diapers tend to be bulky on newborns. That was one of the features that I truly loved about the Duo AIO (now retired), was that the Size 1 would fit those small newborns. Problem solved! About the Newborn ... [ Read More ]
2015 Cloth Diaper Color Trends According to Pantone
It was announced on Thursday that the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year is Marsala, 18-1438. Marsala is a naturally robust and earthy red wine color and I suspect it's only a matter of time before you start seeing Marsala (0r a something similar) in the cloth diaper industry. Here's a look some of the other top Pantone colors that are likely to appear on a cloth diaper for 2015. 2015 Cloth Diaper Color Trends According to Pantone Some of the color trends have already started to make their way into some popular cloth diapers recently. While the colors may not be exact matches, remember that many manufactures will divert from the Pantone scale just slightly so they don't come out with the same exact color as their competitors. Strawberry Ice 16-1721 Strawberry Ice looks really similar to the new Sloomb Strawberry Longies. Classic Blue 19-4052 Classic Blue and bumGenius Stellar (coming soon) have some striking similarities. Glacier Gray 14-4102 Thirsties new Ocean ... [ Read More ]
How to Attend a Google+ Chat / Hangout On Air
Google+ is one social media outlet that needs a little explaining. I'm not sure why Google thinks these things need to be complicated. Regardless of how complicated Google+ may seem, there are some really cool features if you have patience to learn how to use them. Google+ Chats (or Hangouts On Air) are a fun way for you to interact with bloggers, brands, and friends live on air. The first thing you'll need to do is set up a Google account if you don't already have one. Most of us have one connected to Gmail, YouTube, or other Google owned application. Once you have a Google account you can set up your Google+ profile. It's very similar to setting up a Twitter or Facebook profile and you can decide what information to share. If you're using your mobile device or tablet you may need to download the Google+ app first. Next you'll need to RSVP or confirm that you'll be attending (or watching) a specific chat or hangout. For the reference of this post we'll be using the ... [ Read More ]
Thirsties NEW Ocean Collection {and a Giveaway}
With the chill in the air across most parts of the country today, the new Thirsties Ocean Collection makes me want to pack up and move to a tropical island paradise. I know I really shouldn't complain with highs in the 50-60's here in Florida, but those 35-45 degree mornings are chilly for my thin blood. (I don't expect any sympathy from my northern friends.) Thirsties actually revealed their Ocean Collection earlier this Fall but they weren't done with production yet. You don't have to wait any longer though, because retailers have them in stock starting today! There are 5 new prints and 2 new solids making up the Ocean Collection. The prints are all soft tones of blue, yellow, grey and salmon on a white PUL. The 2 new solids are Coral and Fin. The prints include fun little fish, whales, squid, and sand dollars. While the prints do have a lot of blue; they are very gender neutral and would be adorable on your little sailor or mermaid. The Ocean Collection are available ... [ Read More ]

New from Rumparooz Cloth Diapers – Sherbert!
There's quite a few fun things releasing in the cloth diaper industry this week! Another one of my absolute favorite brands is Rumparooz. They are coincidentally, also from Colorado! They revealed some fun new prints and this gorgeous pink color at the ABC Kids Expo last month. You can FINALLY purchase Sherbert today at your favorite cloth diaper retailers. Sherbert is a beautiful bright pink that is perfect for your little princess; but even a prince would wear this vivid color! Real mean wear pink, right!! Why do I love Rumparooz? The owners, Julie & Chad, are hilarious in person. They have an amazing sense of humor and Julie scares me daily with pictures of spiders (I'll spare you the details). Julie started the company in her home when her own infant was having reactions from disposables. Julie's mom taught her how to sew at a young age so she decided to sew diapers for her child. That is how the Rumparooz family of diapers were born. Where would we be today ... [ Read More ]
