I’m learning more and more about Essential Oils and how to safely use them thanks to their fun subscription box and website. They even have a FREE ebook; Essential Oils for Beginners, that is packed full of useful information, dilution guides, and tips for using essential oils with children and pets. It’s such a great resource.
Want to see what’s in the August Essential Oil Recipe Box by Simply Earth??

Inside the August Recipe Box you’ll find:

-Rosemary Essential Oils
-Clove Essential Oils
-Lavender Hydrosol
-Recipe Cards
-Face Mask
-Stickers/Labels
This months recipes are all designed to create clean, glowing, and beautiful skin. My favorite recipes so far (I still haven’t made all of them) are the Hydrosol Facial Toner and the Clear Skin Roll On. I’m also in LOVE with the Feel Good Morning Diffuser blend, it’s such a refreshing scent to start your day with!!

Here’s a teaser recipe for the Hydrosol Facial Toner:
- 2 TBS Lavender Hydrosol
- 1/4 cup distilled water
- 1 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix all of these ingredients in a 2 oz container (like these mister bottles) and your toner is ready to go with a quick shake! I like to use my Marley’s Monsters Facial Rounds since you can wash and reuse them.
Before this months box I had never heard of Lavender Hydrosol. An essential oil and a hydrosol are both products of plant distillation. The essential oil is the concentrated oil from distillation and contains the oil soluble constituents, whereas the hydrosol is the water based product of the distillation process with tiny bits of the oil in suspension within it. Basically, the hydrosol is a much more dilute version of an essential oil.

My oldest is a teenager now so I made him up a Clear Skin Roll On. I’ll let you know how it works after he’s tried it a few times.
My next recipe that I want to try is the Moisturizing Face Cream; but I need to get a few more ingredients that aren’t included in the box. Some of the base ingredients (like apple cider vinegar, aloe vera gel, coconut oil, etc) are not included in the monthly boxes. However when you first subscribe you’ll get some basic ingredients in the BIG BONUS BOX! You can see what’s included in my previous review.
…as a bonus, here’s a blend I created using 2 of the essential oils from this month and one from last month’s box. I like to call it my Welcome Home Blend! I diffuse this when I get home from work and before I get started on my mom duties. Here’s a link to the diffuser I purchased on Amazon; however you can also buy diffusers direct from Simply Earth: https://amzn.to/2LP9ezG
