Natural Slime Recipe without glue or borax that really works. Recipe uses psyllium husk powder.

A few weeks ago I received a new essential oil subscription box from Simply Earth AND their bonus box. They asked me to join their #squad and share my experiences with you about their program. I’ve owned several different essential oils over the years but I’ve never gotten into all the brand oil clubs. Honestly, I’m just now starting to learn how to safely use these oils and incorporate them into some fun DIY recipes around the house.

If you’d like to see what’s included in the Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box (and big bonus box) click over using this referral link: http://bit.ly/2XfM77e. If you use coupon code BACKTOCALLEYFREE you’ll get a bonus $20 gift certificate!

If your kids love making slime like my kids do, they will LOVE this recipe! This recipe does require heating the ingredients so make sure a parent helps and make sure you let this cool down for at least 20 minutes before letting your kids play with it. It gets very hot!!

Natural Slime Recipe using Psyllium Husk Powder:

What is psyllium husk? It’s a form of plant fiber used as a laxative.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 Tbsp Psyllium Husk Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 drop Tangerine Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil
  • 3-4 drops natural food coloring (optional)
  • 1 Tsp Fractionated Coconut Oil

Instructions:

  • Add water to a pot on the stove.
  • Add in fiber, cornstarch, and food coloring.
  • Stir to combine
  • Place on med/low heat and bring to a boil. Allow to boil for 8 minutes, do NOT stir. Keep an eye on the mixture to avoid boiling over.
  • Combine essential oils and coconut oil in a small bowl.
  • Pour oils over mixture.
  • Allow to cool completely! This may take up to 20 minutes to be safe to touch.
  • Play with your slime!
  • Store in an airtight container.

Practical tips:

When we make this again we will pre-mix the dry ingredients and slowly add the water to the dry ingredients to prevent clumping. We didn’t add food coloring and the final color was a bit of a dingy grey. We attempted to add glitter but it didn’t really combine well. The mixture gets REALLY HOT!!! This recipe should only be made under adult supervision and do not attempt to play with the slime until it’s cooled completely!!!

All of the ingredients used in this recipe (with the exception of cornstarch and water) were included in the July 2019 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box! There’s plenty of ingredients to make 2-3 batches of slime.

More about the July Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box:

The July subscription box included 4 full size essential oils, 6 recipe cards, fun ingredients and labels for the recipes. I’m super impressed with the quality of the recipe box and the essential oils. The BIG BONUS BOX that was included with my first box was even more fun!!

To get your first Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box AND the Big Bonus Box be sure to use my referral link and coupon code: BACKTOCALLEYFREE. You’ll also receive a $20 gift card to use on a future purchase at Simply Earth!

This short video from the team at Simply Earth tells a little more about both boxes.
