We were invited to tour the newly renovated Tampa Marriott Westshore during their Open House last night and were impressed with the updates. During their Open House, we were invited to explore the hotel and all that it has to offer guests. If I were planning a conference, work event or party this would be a location that I would consider in the Tampa Bay area.
For wedding receptions, bridal showers, baby showers, or any other type of casual event their pool area is absolutely beautiful. Their pool deck offers an indoor/outdoor seating and swimming area. For those sun worshipers who need their Vitamin D, the outdoor area is beautiful. For those who need a break from the sun or on those hot Tampa summer days, the veranda would be a fun place to relax. The great thing about their pool area is that both the indoor and outdoor areas are connected so your party guests would all be in the same general area. For families on vacation this would be a perfect place to relax with small kids.
The location of the Tampa Marriott Westshore would be perfect for guests. It’s located just a few miles from the Tampa Airport and offers complimentary airport shuttle service. When I was doing a lot of traveling for work, this is one of the areas where I would have stayed. The shopping nearby is the best in the Tampa Bay with 2 shopping malls within walking distance! The restaurant selection within walking distance is abundant with options for everyone at every budget. In addition, the Blue Bistro is their onsite restaurant which offers contemporary American cuisine and fresh made cocktails.
Speaking of food, their catering department did an amazing job on the Open House event. It’s always scary going to events like this at dinner time because you never know if you’re going to leave hungry. I can say that we did not leave hungry and the food was amazing! The selection of food that was offered would have satisfied many different appetites.
I personally was in love with their appetizer selection! The meat and cheese trays were just as tasty as they were beautiful. I loved their individual servings of hummus and pita bread. My personal favorite thought had to be the sushi options with fresh ahi tuna!!
Just look how attractive their Caprese salad dishes are!!
In addition they had a prime rib carving station, BBQ sandwiches, grouper tacos, and shrimp plates for those with an appetite.
…and for dessert
How CUTE is this platter of French Macaroons! They tasted just as good as they looked!
They had lots of options to feed that sweet tooth and don’t worry, there’s a 24 hour gym in the hotel too for after you’re done indulging yourself.
In addition to their amazing catering offerings, we toured the 14th floor Concierge lounge that is reserved for Gold & Platinum Marriott reward members.
The lounge offered a place for members to relax after a busy day with some amazing views of the Tampa Bay and the Tampa Airport. You can watch the sunset over the Bay while watching the planes landing at the airport.
The guest rooms have also gotten a fresh new look. We toured the Double, King, and Suites on the 14th floor to see all these new updates. There’s Netflix on all of the TVs, in room wifi, and more charging stations than you’ll ever need. Trust me…..there are PLENTY of charging stations for our family of four….and we each have 2-3 devices that need charged while on vacation!!
If you’re going to be staying for more than just 1-2 nights, the suite offers a little extra room for you and your family to have a separate living and dining area away from the bedroom and work space.
The King rooms are so relaxing!
…and you absolutely MUST get a room with a balcony facing Tampa Bay and the airport for sunset! This would also be a great spot to wake up and drink your coffee!
Overall I was impressed with the Tampa Marriott Westshore and the renovations that have been made. It’s a great location that is convenient to the Tampa Business District and shopping areas. This would be an amazing venue to host a party, conference, or special event….of for the business traveler who is traveling with their family. This would be a great spot for locals to stay after an event downtown if you didn’t want to drive home or a fun place to stay the night before an early flight!
What features do you look for in a hotel? This one certainly checked off all of my favorites!
