March is almost here! The temperatures here in Florida are breaking records and the pollen is already dusting the cars. My tulip bulbs have just started to bud and it’s an official sign that Spring is almost here.
That also means that the Valspar Championship is headed to Palm Harbor, FL for a week full of golf, entertainment, games, food trucks and music! We’ve slowly seen the course transform and prepare for the tournament over the past month. We visited the Innisbrook pool this weekend with friends and the Valspar tents are set up along the Copperhead course and ready for the players.
I’ll be attending their Executive Women’s Day even and influencer day next week. Their Executive Women’s Day is an event that hosts local women executives and speakers from around the globe to empower one another. It was a fascinating event to attend last year and I’m excited to have been invited back again this year.
About the Valspar Championship:
The tournament events begin March 5 and run through March 11th; with the first round of the tournament beginning on Thursday, March 8th. There are 3 rounds (days) of golf leading up to the final round on Sunday. Even if you are not an avid golfer, I would recommend planning a day at the Championship with your family. It’s a very family friendly event and the weather is perfect this time of year to get out and enjoy Innisbrook, golf, and nature.
For the Foodies:
The Valspar Food Truck Rally is a great place to enjoy local food trucks while watching golf. The Tampa Bay area is blessed with some amazing food trucks and I can’t wait to see which ones stop by this year.
If you prefer a pool side setting, the Frenchy’s Pool Party is the perfect place to let the kids chill out in the pool, while you enjoy a cup of She Crab Soup or a grouper sandwich!! If you’re not from the area, it will make you want to visit the Clearwater Frenchy’s on the beach!!
The Grape & Grain is where you’ll find me and the hubs. They have a variety of upscale wines, beers and spirits and a great sitting area right on the course. It’s a great place to relax after you’ve walked the course.
For Families:
There is always fun things for the kids to do at Valspar and best of all….kids are FREE! We started taking our kids when they were 3-5 years old and they still enjoy spending the day at Innisbrook with us. The absolutely love the Family Fun Zone and the 16 foot tall rock climbing wall. There may be 6 years between my kids, but they love to race each other to the top! In the Fun Zone there are also putting greens and other games and activities for them to play.
I’m excited about the Valspar Chameleon Cove; it’s a beach area with a sand sculpture and concessions. We’re only about 5-10 minutes away from the real beaches; but I can’t resist walking in the sand….I mean…the kids love to play in the sand!!!
New this year is the Tiny Homes Block Party! I can’t wait to see how this is laid out. I’m in love with watching all the Tiny Homes shows on TV and dream of having a tiny home on the beach one day…after the kids are older and moved out! The kids will want to stop by for popsicles!!
Just walk around the course, it’s a beautiful course full of fresh flowers and beautifully landscaped grounds. There are photo ops around every corner. Plus you’ll get a workout in walking around all 18 holes.
Valspar LIVE!
For guests who attend Valspar on Saturday, your admission includes a special concert with country stars Jake Owen and Dustin Lynch. Be sure to pack a blanket or chair and sit back on the range and listen to some live music with friends and family. We’ll actually be here for the concert this year since our Spring Break is later in March. We’ve missed it the last 2 years.
Not sure who Jake and Dustin are? Here’s some eye candy for you…
…but you’re only interested in the golf, right???
