It’s finally here, the new Sprouts Farmers Market is finally open in Tampa!! My son and I got to visit the newest location in Carrollwood for their Friends & Family night and blog tour. We got a quick tour and overview of Sprouts with their staff and then had some time to shop on our own. I really didn’t have much on my shopping list this week, but I still managed to find some essential items and bargains that I couldn’t resist.
If you’re near Carrollwood I would recommend visiting them between now and Sunday; their Grand Opening specials are running all weekend long. I couldn’t pass up the $1 strawberries, $1 pineapples, and 3/$1 avocados. Be sure to download their mobile app before you go so you can take advantage of the Sprouts mobile coupons, no more clipping necessary!
As we walked in I was immediately in love with the adorable little succulents and the bright, vivid orchids. I do not have a green thumb so I’m sure they’d both die if I brought them home.
Kombucha and other fresh juices and drinks. I bought my first Kombucha….I’ll report back once I’m brave enough to try it.
Refrigerated breads and other baked goods. If you’re gluten free or looking for sprouted breads they have a full selection.
Seafood, steak, chicken, and more!
Oh.My.Yogurt!!!! I spy my favorite Stonyfield Grassfed on the top shelf and several other Stonyfield goodies filling those dairy shelves!
Coffee, it’s like they know me or something! I really want to try the Cookiedoodle.
Bulk shopping heaven!! My son really wanted to take home all the granola and nut mixes!
…but the real star of the entire store is the produce section!
After we checked out…with a few goodies we probably didn’t need….I was impressed with the tiniest of things. Sprouts Farmers Market uses double-side receipts! Instead of the usual foot long receipt, our receipt was short and printed on both sides. It was a nice surprise, but one that didn’t go unnoticed!
Overall I was really impressed with the options at Sprouts. There is a good mixture of organic, GMO-free, and more specialty food options; there are also a lot of traditional options mixed in. Some of the really good bargains are not organic so you’ll want to make sure you read the tags and labels. I found the prices on most items to be comparable or cheaper than my regular super market. I only found myself splurging on a few items just because they looked cool or sounded neat; like the mint chocolate tart ($4.29) or the root beer kombucha ($2.59). I really should remember to make a list next time!

I was there too! Wonderful and PLENTY of staff on hand to answer questions! I think they are a combo orf Trader Joe;s and Whole foods. I definitely like that they are in North Tampa! I love TJ’s, but not the drive. 🙂
