Decorating for a baby shower can be one of the most fun (and sometimes stressful) parts of planning a baby shower. Here is a roundup of fun ideas for a Dinosaur themed cloth diaper baby shower.
Click back to yesterdays post for directions on how to build the cloth diaper cake pictured above.
Use some of the smaller baby gifts for decorations! Balm Baby Diaper Balm and Molly’s Suds were used to help decorate the cloth diaper cake. You could also hang baby clothes from the clothesline on the wall.
Include your food in the decorating. Blueberries, candy, and carrots were all included in this theme. The giant clothespin (found at Michael’s) can be used many different ways. We used it to label the Dino-Treats for the guests.
Larger clothespins (also found at Micheal’s) were used for the wall decorations and hold a few cloth diapers, along with a ribbon streamer decorated with baby dinosaur eggs. Each dinosaur egg has a sweet saying such as baby boy, congraulations, and fluff-saurus. You can download and print these dinosaur eggs (PDF format).
Tissue paper flowers are used for the table-scape and were also hung from the ceiling. Another fun way to incorporate cloth diapers into a baby shower is to take up donations for a cloth diaper fund so the new mom can pick out the diapers she wants.
This Earth Mama Angel Baby gift basket is a fun way to incorporate new mom and baby gifts into the baby shower decorations. Don’t hide these beautiful gifts inside of gift bags; let them be displayed for all the guests to enjoy. Come back tomorrow as I share with you some of my favorite new mom and baby gift ideas.
If you plan on giving out gifts to your guests, you can incorporate them into your decorations and continue the theme. Here we used small gift bags and attached the same dinosaur eggs (PDF) we used for our ribbon streamers and closed the bags with cloth diaper pins.
If you look closely in all of these pictures you’ll also see the table cloth is also dinosaur themed. We used coordinating swaddle blankets for the table cloth. At the end of the party, mom can take these home to use on her baby. The plastic containers used in the decorations were found at the local Dollar Store.
Have fun when decorating and try to find creative ways to use the baby gifts in your decorations. You can work with some of the other gifts to collect the gifts in advance to help spread out the costs.
