Did you know that there are hidden toxins in most deodorants? It’s been years since I put a traditional deodorant on, most of the ones you find at the grocery store or big box store contain aluminum, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, and other toxins. There are other options that aren’t laden with these hidden toxins that are equally as effective.
The brand I’ve used the longest is by Balm! Baby, a brand out of Hawaii. Their natural deodorant, Thinc Skin Pits!, is packed full of herbally infused Hawaiian oils, shea butter and essential oils. It offers up to 18 hours of protection from stinky pits! I love that the Pits! comes packaged in a recyclable glass jar and is made from organic & natural ingredients. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced from an organic farm in Hawaii. Pits! is vegan and cruelty free. Pits! is available in a number of fresh clean scents, unscented, and a super sensitive for those prone to skin irritations. Ingredients: Shea butter, olive oil infused with calendula & chamomile, macadamia nut oil, coconut oil, baking soda, arrow root, and essential oils. Price: $7.49 for a 2oz jar.
Another brand I’ve been very happy with is Ruma Organics, a brand out of Michigan. Ruma Organics is also available in a recyclable glass jar and has a nice creamy texture. It’s organic, all natural, aluminum free, paraben free, vegan, and cruelty free. I’ve been using Ruma Organics for about 2 months now and it keeps me smelling fresh, even after a sweaty day in the sun. Ruma Organics is available with peppermint, lavender, or lemon essential oils for a light scent. In addition to using this on your pits, you can also use Ruma Organics as a facial scrub, scrub for chapped lips, natural teeth whitening, to alleviate food odor, foot scrub, in place of shaving cream, and to sooth mosquito bites. Talk about a multipurpose product! Ingredients: Organic corn starch, aluminum free sodium bicarbonate, organic virgin coconut oil, and essential oils. Price: $15 for a 4oz jar.
I’m also testing out another brand this week, Primal Pit Paste out of Lakeland, FL. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on that product early in the week with an awesome giveaway!
What about DIY deodorants? Great question! To be honest I’ve never tried to make my own deodorant. I’ve been told it’s not incredibly difficult to make and the ingredients are quite simple. Perhaps I’ll test a few recipes out and compare them with the one’s I already know and love.
Do you have a favorite all natural deodorant? Which one’s have you tried and liked?
Disclosure: Samples of the products mentioned in this post were provided to me for review. The opinions expressed are my own.

I love that there are so many natural deodorant options out there. I’ve been using Soapwalla for a few years and really like it. My week testing a new brand, Primal Pit Paste, has been great. Can’t wait to hear your experience!

I won a jar of Pits! In a giveaway and LOVE it. Immediately bought a couple more.
I have found a number of the natural deodorants don’t seem to work very well. But we love PurelyGreat and use the unscented. We have been using it for over a year now and never had a problem with being stinky when meeting with clients, etc.
