Our family was invited to spend the afternoon at Airheads Trampoline Arena in Tampa today. My son had been to the Clearwater-St. Pete location last year with his group from summer camp but the rest of us had never been.
Locations: There are 3 locations currently. One in Tampa, one in Clearwater, and another in Orlando.
They open at 10 am on Saturdays and we arrived shortly after. It was nice to be there early because we had half of the arena to ourselves. On one end of the arena there were basketball goals and areas just for jumping around. On the other end (where we stayed most of the day) was an area that was for smaller jumpers and their family. It was nice that they had a section just for the younger kids so they didn’t get hurt.
Parents can jump with their kids or watch them from the lounge (complete with tables and sofas) on a big screen TV. We opted for jumping with them because who doesn’t love jumping on a trampoline?
I can’t believe how exhausted we were after only 20 minutes. My husband is pretty active during the week (he works out and runs) and even he needed a break after a short time. Now I completely understand why they have trampoline fitness classes (AIRobics) where you can burn up to 1000 calories in an hour. If we lived closer I could see this as a fun workout during the week.
The great thing about their unlimited jumping is that you can take a break as often as you like. In addition to the trampoline arena they have a nice sized game room and the Air Cafe. The menu at the Cafe was pretty impressive too – not just junk food! I had their chicken caesar wrap while my husband snacked on the buffalo chicken wrap. Other menu items include pizza, hot dogs, chicken wings, and our favorite slushies!
Back on the trampolines we ran, jumped, and played dodgeball with the kids for over 2 hours. We even attempted to do some flips but fear got the best of me after my first attempt. Airheads equips every jumper with a pair of jump shoes and a helmet (optional). There are safety monitors (think lifeguards) monitoring the arena to make sure that everyone is staying safe.
We really enjoyed the time we spent at Airheads Trampoline Arena (Tampa) today and are looking forward to planning our sons 10th birthday party there next month. Their party packages include unlimited jumping, food, drinks, and more!
The best part of Airheads is that as soon as you get in the car your kids will magically fall asleep! Once we got home they relaxed quietly playing together while mom and dad took our own naps!
Eco-rating: Aside from the disposable items (plates, napkins, cups, etc) in their AirCafe there really isn’t any environmental impact associated with jumping on a trampoline! Added bonus: It’s an amazing workout which is great for your body, mind, and sanity.
What did you do this weekend? If you’re in the Tampa or Orlando area you can find out more about Airheads Indoor Trampoline Arena online, Facebook, or Twitter.
Disclosure: Airheads invited us to spend the day with them free of charge. No other monetary compensation was received. The opinions expressed here are my own and the smiles on my kids faces can’t be faked! BONUS TIP FOR THE MAMAS: If you have problems when you sneeze (you know what I’m talking about) you may want to be prepared for those same issues when you jump! Just a warning.

That looks like a good time. I have always wanted to take my family to an indoor play arena and this looks like a good choice. I wonder if they do monthly memberships. Thanks for the local post
It does look great for a party!
Awesome blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any ideas? Thanks!
The two types of trampolines are recreational, and competitive. Recreational trampolines aren’t constructed as sturdily as competitive trampolines, and their springs aren’t as strong. Recreational trampolines come in both outdoor as well as indoor varieties, and are available in various shapes and sizes..
