What do you pack in your kids lunch? It’s so easy when we go shopping to grab the prepackaged
junk products that are popular with the kids. My kids would love it if I gave them Lunchables every day but that sends me into serious mommy guilt because of the artificial ingredients. Here are a few of our favorite alternative lunch box favorites –
Applegate natural deli meat – Applegate meats do not contain antibiotics, hormones, artificial ingredients or preservatives. Serve them on a sandwich or cut them up to create your own healthier cheese, meat, and cracker snacks. To learn more about Applegate follow them on Facebook.
Late July Organic Snack Chips – Late July chips are made with USDA Organic ingredients, are GMO free, and gluten free. They do not contain any artificial ingredients, flavors, or colors. They come in a variety of flavors like blue corn, sea salt, mild green mojo, sweet potato (seriously delicious), and dude ranch! To learn more about Late July follow them on Facebook.
Stoneyfield Organic Yogurts – Stoneyfield is perhaps one of the most eco-friendly food companies that I know of. They create a product that is better for people AND the planet! With Stoneyfield you can be at ease knowing that there are never any artificial ingredients (colors, flavors, etc) and that they are USDA Organic. In addition they support local farmers across the US who practice sustainable farming. My kids love the YoKids Squeezers and can be found in their lunch box almost every day of the week. To learn more about Stoneyfield follow them on Facebook.
Funny Face Cranberries – Funny Face takes cranberries to the next level with some delicious flavors like Goofy Grape and Freckle Face Strawberry. They are a low sugar and fat free snack that my daughter devoured! To learn more about Funny Face Cranberries follow them on Facebook.
Fresh fruits and veggies – Even with all of the convenience items on the market don’t forget to add a serving of fresh fruits and vegetables to your kids lunch box each day. On any given day my kids will leave some food in their lunch boxes but I rarely find fresh fruits and veggies uneaten. Some of their favorites are carrots with ranch dip (or hummus), grapes, bananas, peas (yes, my daughter loves peas), and raspberries.

Do you have a favorite lunch box recipe or tip to share?

Noah always has fresh fruit in his lunchbox, still needs helping with dips so no veggies yet. And we also LOVE stonyfield yogurt! Will have to try funny face and apple gate next trip at the grocery store!
