I’ve had the idea of hosting a special meet-and-greet for months in conjunction with my trip to BlogHer. When I arrived at BlogHer last year I didn’t know anyone and I hid in my hotel room tweeting away trying to find someone to have lunch with. I ventured out and made a great friend (thanks Kate for having lunch with me) and the rest of the weekend I was a social butterfly. This year I decided to join forces with some of my blogger friends to help me organize the details of the party. Once we started making our invite list we realized just how large the community is and how hard it would be to limit the invites to only 50 bloggers. There are so many wonderfully talented bloggers and over 3,600 of them attending BlogHer.
We had an agenda of course – since the organizers and I are cloth diapering addicts and advocates we wanted to reach out to other like-minded bloggers. What are other like-minded bloggers like? What do they blog about? We found in our search that like-minded bloggers are all moms and that’s the one similarity that we have. Aside from that we are all different in how we raise our children.
So we wanted to ask you – what makes you #HauteGreen?
Join us for a #HauteGreen pre-BlogHer Blog Hop. Share with us what makes you #HauteGreen and why you are excited about this gathering. What do you hope to learn at the gathering? Who are you looking forward to meeting at the gathering? What do you hope to share with others at the gathering? We’d love for each blogger to write their own stories on their blog (in any form, fashion, or style they choose) and link it up in our Blog Hop. This is a great opportunity to meet the other bloggers who will be in attendance and learn more about their blogs.
Additional information about the #HauteGreen Social Hour: The event is currently closed due to overwhelming response. If you know of someone who would like to be invited they can send an email to theecochic@gmail.com and we’d be happy to put them on our waitlist. This is not an officially sponsored BlogHer event and is taking place away from the official conference space.

Special thanks to Rockin’ Green for sponsoring my trip to BlogHer ’11. Rockin’ Green is a natural laundry detergent designed especially for use with cloth diapers but can also be used on regular laundry too. In addition to using Rockin’ Green for laundry there are hundreds of different uses for this soap. Be sure to sign up for 52 Weeks of Clean where they share a new tip for using Rockin’ Green around your home. For more information about Rockin’ Green visit them on theWeb, Facebook, and on Twitter.
