Today we spent almost 5 hours at our favorite beach in our town – Honeymoon Island State Park. Actually it’s been out favorite beach since our son was born when we first visited with my parents. That first year we still lived in Georgia and were just down for a long weekend. Who would have guessed that we’d now live 10 minutes from there and visit several times a year. Who would have guessed that my babies would actually be growing up at the beach?
Enjoy my photo journal of the past 8 years while I go wipe a few tears.
2004: Big brother was 1 and this is my favorite photo of him ever.
2005: Notice the same cute beach hat on the boy.
2006: He’s not a baby anymore.
2007: Wearing the same shorts from the year before.
2008: Our first boogie board.
2009: Now we have TWO at the beach! It’s getting harder to get him to sit still for photos.
2010: The boy is missing his front teeth and we’re trying to keep her from eating the sand.
2011: Mommy was so busy keeping an eye on our little tot that the camera didn’t come out much this trip. I did capture a few quick shots though. Today we also learned how to paddle board – but the camera was safely inside the beach bag.
Do you have a special place or time of year that you ALWAYS have to get pictures of you kids? Most of these are taken on Memorial Day weekend (or within a week or two). This year we didn’t go to the beach on Memorial Day because daddy had just gotten back from China the night before.
*Location details: Honeymoon Island State Park is in Dunedin, FL. Dunedin is just North of Clearwater, West of Tampa, and South of where we live in Palm Harbor.
