Giveaway Alert! Win a FuzziBunz One-Sized Hemp Cloth Diaper by following the simple details at the bottom of this review.  CONGRATS KAREN with winning comment #549!

Almost two years into our cloth diapering journey and I still haven’t written aboutFuzziBunz until now.  We received one last spring, one at BlogHer in August (thanks Gina @ Feminist Breeder) and now our Fuzzi stash is up to three.  The FuzziBunz system is a great one-sized pocket diaper that uses the interior elastic to adjust the rise and waist to fit your baby perfectly.  This makes for a very smooth and trim look without tons of snaps cluttering up the front of the diaper.

The regular FuzziBunz comes with two microfiber inserts while the Hemp comes with one hemp insert (actually it’s 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton).  There are advantages to choose the newest hemp variety.  Hemp is more absorbent than microfiber, more environmentally friendly, and has a natural anitmicrobial property.  Hemp is also trimmer making your fluffy bum a little less fluffier for those concerned about the thickness of your babies rump!  Guess what else – if you look closely on the tag of the insert you’ll see that the FuzziBunz insert is actually made by BabyKicks – one of my favorite hemp inserts EVER!

Both varieties come standard with a fleece lining of the pocket giving an ultra soft feel next to your babies bunz.  One thing that sets FuzziBunz ahead of most of the competitors is the replacement elastic that comes standard with each and every diaper.  Replacement elastics will come in handy if you plan on using your stash on more than one child.  Elastic is the first part of a diaper to go bad – and usually the most daunting to replace.  However with the simple FuzziBunz system it only takes minutes to replace the elastic.

Where do FuzziBunz rank in our stash?  They are among the top 5that I will reach for on a regular basis.  I especially love the new hemp variety for the extra absorbency at night time.  I usually pair it with a microfiber and have instant super soaking capabilities!  The regular FuzziBunz one-size is available in 15 bright new colors and if you’re lucky you can even find some old colors still available at select retailers (like my friends at www.DiapersEtc.com).  The hemp FuzziBunz is currently only available in the neutral vanilla color.  Looking for a hook & loop FuzziBunz – check out Kellys Closet who is the exclusive retailer for the hook & loop.

Beyond the diaper– FuzziBunz stands out among the cloth diaper manufacturers for their community involvement.  Thereson, the owner and creator of FuzziBunz, organized the Cloth for the Coast during the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster where parents could donate their retired cloth diapers to help in the clean up efforts in the Gulf.  In addition, FuzziBunz supports local and international cloth diapering projects to donate cloth diapers to babies in need.  Babies in the US, Uganda, and Haiti have been blessed with some FuzziBunz love.  You can read more about the charitable efforts of FuzziBunz in their Press Release section of their site.

Buy it:  FuzziBunz can be found at most cloth diapering retailers including some of my favorites Kelly’s Closet and Diapers Etc.  The hemp version is the most expensive at $21.95.

Win it:  One lucky reader will win a hemp FuzziBunz of their very own.  Simply visit FuzziBunz online and tell me one thing you learned about FuzziBunz.  Leave me a comment below and you are automatically entered into this giveaway.

While surfing the web tonight I found the video that Gina (Feminist Breeder) made during BlogHer10 featuring the wet haired – overly bubbly – version of myself in the last scene.  Enjoy a good laugh at my expense!

I actually learned how to adjust the elastic to fit different sizes, good to know since I may have to explain it to a friend who will be having a squishy very soon.
