OK blog world I need your help! Over the past year I have become friends (online at least) with a wonderful lady, mother, blogger, and small business owner. Jeanne owns EcoLabel fundraising, a eco-friendly fundraising company. Jeanne is nominated to win a $100,000 in grants and marketing from Amex and iVillage through their Shine a Light program but she needs our help and our votes! Voting period ends Sept. 13, 2009.

Here is a brief summary from Jeanne about EcoLabel Fundraising:
EcoLabel Fundraising is changing the face of raising funds for schools and non-profits while promoting environmental awareness across the U.S. Their fundraising program features organic, eco-friendly and fair-trade products. You will find an exciting variety of products from reusable sandwich wraps to soy candles to greeting cards that you can plant in their program. EcoLabel Fundraising offers eco-friendly fundraising programs available in a paper catalog or online format. The company was founded by Jeanne Reslan in 2008 after she made the life-changing decision to leave a high-income career in petroleum-chemical and oil sales. Ms. Reslan’s goal was to reach youth in a way that would bring greater environmental awareness. The company’s focus is to assist schools and non-profits to raise funds for programs within those organizations. “It is our goal that we may bring responsible fundraising practices into more schools and non-profits in Colorado as well as across the United States by moving to a more central location,” said Reslan. “It is our hope that we will bring environmental awareness to the forefront through our eco-friendly fundraising programs. We are excited to be helping schools and non-profits to raise much-needed funds in these tough times.”
Reslan adds, “We have chosen a quality line of products for our Fundraising program that are practical and fun. We know that people are pressed to make choices about spending these days, so we wanted them to feel good about supporting their school or cause. The products are items they will find useful to their family’s day to day routines, as well as, justified in giving as gifts. In many cases, they will find that replacing disposable items with reusuable items from our program will save their family money over time.”
The company donates 40% of each sale to the beneficiary. The company does not charge any upfront fees, and sign-up is 100% free. The products are priced at a fair-market value which is a contrast to the traditional fundraising programs found in schools. The result of the contribution to the organization per sale and the fair-market pricing of products is a 95% of profit return to the organizations they assist. Green powerhouses have backed the program’s concept including many prominent Green Mom Bloggers. On Greenoplis.com, Gawky Green of Two Girls Go Green wrote, “The concept is very smart for it allows for a lot of green goodness: people get to buy green, sell green, raise awareness about green, talk about green and create more green for the future.” If EcoLabel Fundraising is fortunate enough to be the recipient of the ShineALight grant, they will use the money to spread the word about their program. It is their hope to make all schools and non-profits from coast to coast aware of their goal to help raise funds and spread the word to today’s youth about the importance of preserving our Earth’s resources.
