Making Baby Food

Well it is that time that parents look forward to (don’t we?) when we can introduce solid food to our wee ones.  Lil’ B is almost 51/2 months and won’t let us eat in peace.  She wants to try everything and grab any food (or other items) that are within her reach.  We started right at 5 months offering her cereal and early baby foods.  I was really hoping to wait until the 6 month mark (new recommended age to introduce solids) but she didn’t want any part of that.

With Big Brother we introduced solids at 4 months and he really didn’t have any interest.  It wasn’t until amost 6 months when his instincts kicked in.  I guess every baby is unique in their own way.  I made most of his food but always had a backup of jarred food in the house.  It was pretty easy to do and just another reason to give my family to laugh at me.  Afterall, why would you make baby food when it’s available pre-made in the stores?

Well, in the coming weeks I’ll introduce you to many reasons why I wanted to make our own baby food.  I will also be giving you some of my favorite baby food recipes.  You’ll be surprised at how easy and how little time is really involved.  I promise!

And join me for the Eco-Summer Blog Party on July 1-15th.  You might just win a free e-book with lots of resources on how to make your own homemade babyfood!

No, not supermom! Remember I never found my cape after I had Lil’ B! Why did you see one on me? Must have been Big B playing with his blanket again!
