Spidey-Kitty Ticket Stub Invitation Tutorial & Free Download below.

Lil’ B is turning 4 in January and I’ve gone a little overboard on planning her birthday party.  As a second child I haven’t really given her a BIG party and I really want to make it special for her.  The past 2 years we’ve celebrated with friends at a restaurant and her first birthday was at the house.  She has decided on a Hello Kitty birthday party but I decided to tweak it a bit – she also likes Spiderman!  Yes, she’s a girlie girl with a touch of tomboy.  I absolutely love it.  My party planning began on Pinterest and I found some really fun ideas for birthday invitations; ticket stubs.  Then while searching for some t-shirts on Etsy I found Spidey Kitty!!  I knew right away I wanted to make the theme of her party Spidey Kitty!

I’m not a pro at graphic design but I do tinker a bit (ok – I tinker a LOT but that doesn’t mean I’m good at it).  I really wanted to make her invitations myself and I want to share with you a quick tutorial on how I made her Spidey Kitty Ticket Stub Invitations.

I used Photoshop Elements (PSE) and PicMonkey to create the 2X6″ tickets.  You will end up with 2 tickets on each 4X6 sheet so you can print them at any local photo processor (I used our local Walgreens).

Spidey Kitty Tutorial

I started in PSE by using the rectangle tool to color the background and text boxes the light blue, dark blue and black as shown above.  Each color as an additional layer stacking on top of one another.  Next I used the star brush to add the white and blue stars (varying the sizes of blue stars).  Finally I added my graphics on top; the Spidey Kitty and the barcode.  I saved it as a .png graphic so I could open it in PicMonkey.

This is what the invitation looks like after I was done with it in PSE.  Next I went to PicMonkey and added all the text.  I added her name, age, party location, date, time, and RSVP information.  You can pick your own font and text to customize it for your own party.

When I was done with the text I saved it again.  Finally I opened a new project in PSE; this time the size was 4X6″.  I placed the final graphic in the new project and duplicated a second graphic next to it giving me 2 finished tickets in the same file.  Save this file as .jpg so that you can have them printed locally.

This is a copy of the final project (without the actual name, date and location).  I can’t wait to hand these out to her friends this week.

Sample Spidey Kitty Ticket

As my gift to you I have made the Spidey Kitty Ticket template downloadable so all you have to do is add your text and print.

Note: I did not create the Spidey Kitty graphic used in this template (this Spidey Kitty created by TRDaz ©2012 from Deviant Art), please don’t use this graphic in publications without crediting the creator.

I’m keen on your template layout, I think it is really wonderful! I used to be questioning, I installed the WordPress Seo plugin and I want to allow breadcrumbs indicator, but I’m confused just
where on the template insert the code of Breadcrumbs
    Thanks upfront!

Thanks so much for posting this! My daughter is turning three next month and has been talking about a Spider-Man party for weeks. Today she just started begging for hello kitty…so I decided to do both 🙂 curious as to what else you did? I’d love to see pics! I’m having a hard time coming up with ideas and apparently a spidey-kitty birthday party isn’t a common theme on Pinterest!

Sarah – we didn’t do anything else that theme. It was a very small party. It would have been cute though!
