Project Pomona Pants Designed for Real Babies & Cloth Diapers

Project Pomona

Does your baby wear cloth diapers?  Do you have a hard time finding pants that fit over their fluffy bum?  Hate having to buy a size up only to have pants way too long?  Then you need Project Pomona!

Oh how I wish I still had a baby in cloth diapers to wear these adorable pants!

Pomona Pants are designed with just a little extra room in the trunk to accommodate a babies diapers (fits both disposable and cloth diapers in the same size).  They have a low rise in the front to make room for those little baby bellies and perhaps the most unique feature is the snapping waist and hip panel.  There are three snaps (similar to the snaps found on cloth diapers) on each waist/hip to adjust to fit your baby perfectly.

I honestly don’t know why the clothing industry hasn’t thought of this yet!  Ever since I can remember baby clothes have those hideous metal snaps that go up the inside of each leg (so you can change diapers easier – as if that’s possible) or elastic waist that may or may not fit your baby.  As they get older and enter the toddler age you may be lucky enough to find the adjustable waist elastic which all of my children have needed (I make skinny waisted babies).  But the snaps on the Pomona are so clean, neat, and pretty!

I did have a chance to view a pair of Pomona’s first hand before I shared them with a friend for her little girl.  They are nicely made and incredibly high quality.  I love that the ankle of each pant is lined with a stylish fabric that can be cuffed for shorter babies (or uncuffed for a little extra growing room).  Such a smart design for our babies that can grow so quickly!

In order to get clothes to fit over cloth diapers, I use onesie extenders and pants a size up 🙂

We have a huge problem with pants fitting! Our son is on the chunky side so pants are a problem even without the diaper. We tend to keep him in onesies at home that are a size up from what he needs and if he does need pants we use elastic waist pants that are a size up.

I’m just expecting my first, so I can’t answer the question yet. These pants are so cute, though!

I buy the next size pants up to fit over the diaper or just forego pants and use baby legs

We have had difficulty only since switching to cloth diapers, and we haven’t found a solution yet, besides having him wear pants that are a size too big, and rolling up the legs!

I usually just keep my LO in a onesie that is one size up. Putting pants on over a cloth diaper after every diaper change has become a hassle.

I just make sure that all pants are knit/stretchy, but little jeans and dress pants on babies are SO cute! Sometimes I’ll put DS in a sposie, just so he can wear a pair of jeans. 🙂

So far no problems. We use Best Bottom diapers, which are trimmer than others.

My little girl doesn’t wear pants too much, yet. (She’s only 7 weeks old and we live in Arizona), but her fluffy butt already fits in 3 month size pants, even though the rest of her is “newborn” sized. These jeans are darling, I would love a pair for her for this fall/winter!

We have a hard time with pants. We buy the next size up but since he is short they are really long on him.

I only seem to have an issue when she’s starting to outgrow her current size! The big issue I tend to have is that her onesies get too short!

I usually put my boy in shorts instead of pants and just get a size (or three) bigger. Or I just get stretchy pants. And in the house, he goes sans-pants most of the time.

We no pants it around the house and when we leave he looks like he has a super duper padded butt in his oversize pants.

We have the hardest time trying to find pants to fit my LO! He has a long torso but shorter legs so if I go up a size in pants, I have to roll them up (or hem them). I also find that pants are too long in the front and short in the back (so half of his diaper is sticking out). It’s frustrating that the main stream baby clothing designers only make pants and onesies to fit over disposable diapers.

Kind of have problems finding pants that fit. I just do a size bigger if the fit is tighter.

My little guy is actually pretty skinny, so the cloth diaper helps keep his pants up! That said, elastic waist bands are a must!
