“I’ve been pinning for nine months, 2 days, and 12 hours.”  That’s pretty close to what I would say if there were a Pinterest-anonymous.  I’ve been on Pinterest since the Fall of 2011 and I love everything about it.  It’s a great way to learn new things and see some wild ideas – or just get sucked away from work for hours!

If you are relatively new to Pinterest you may be a little confused by some of the terms and features like; pinning, repinning, like, boards, and following.  I recently received an advanced copy of Kelby Carr’s newest book, Pinterest for Dummies, and couldn’t put it down.  In fact, after about 2 hours I have finished the entire book, highlighted my favorite parts and dog-eared the pages I need to go back to.  You can officially call me a Pinterest-junkie now!

Pinterest For Dummies

Kelby Carr is a one of the most well known Pinterest users with over 3,000 followers and thousands of pins!  She is also the founder and CEO of Type-A-Parent, a social media network, blog, and conference.  If there is someone who knows anything about being ‘social’ on the internet – Kelby is your girl.  My first experience with Kelby was a few years ago when her ebook helped me make some much needed improvements on my blog.

Who should read Pinterest for Dummie?  Everyone!  Yes, even an expert pinner can find at least a few new things in the book.  I would highly recommend it to any blogger who is using Pinterest to help reach readers.  I would highly recommend it to any company who wants to learn more about using Pinterest for marketing.  And of course, if you just love Pinterest and want to learn to navigate your way through your favorite boards without getting sucked in for hours…then yes, you should read it too!

What will you learn in Pinterest for Dummies?  You’ll learn the basics of Pinterest, how to be social on Pinterest, Pinterest Etiquette, and fun new ways to use Pinterest in your life.  As a blogger one of the tips that I learned was about the ideal size of an image you plan on pinning – did you know that anything less than 200 pixels will appear grainy and pixelated?

Would you like to win a free copy of Pinterest for Dummies?  Complete the steps in the Rafflecopter application below (may not be visible from all mobile devices and feeds) between now and May 15th (midnight ET) and you’ll be entered to win!  Giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada over the age of 18yrs old.  *Note: Only the first step is mandatory for entry.  Completing the extra steps will earn you additional entries.

I’ve found it fairly easy to pick-up on, but I’d love to gift this to a friend who’s just starting out.

They’ve corrected the problem now, but months ago, if you looked at a pin and tried to get back to where you were previously looking, it would take you to an updated page. I ended up spending more time on Pinterest b/c I was trying to figure out what I hadn’t seen!

I have been having trouble trying to leave a comment on a few pinterest boards. What really confuses me is that there seems to be no way to contact the board owner when this happens.

I simply had to say thanks once more. I do not know the things I would have created without the points shown by you concerning my concern. It truly was a real frustrating problem for me personally, nevertheless finding out this expert style you processed that forced me to jump over happiness. I’m just happier for this advice and have high hopes you are aware of a powerful job you’re doing teaching others by way of your blog post. I am sure you’ve never got to know all of us.
