No Genies Allowed!

Nice to see you again! Hope you're having a fabulous day! Can I help you with anything? Contact Me!

So what do wish for?  A stinky free diaper area?  With my first child we HAD to have one of those Diaper Genies because we thought they would make the diapers (and the poo) DISAPEAR!  But in all actuallity all they do is store the nasty smell until you decide to empty the canister.  As he got older the poo got stinker and so did the Genie!  We got rid of it after he was out of diapers so I didn’t have one when we had Little B a few weeks ago.  Since I’m about to make the switch to cloth I hadn’t even thought about the Diaper Genie until my husband brought it up the other day.  We’ve just been throwing the diapers right into the trash can…which goes out every other day at least.  There is no lingering smell and no EXTRA WASTE!  I say extra because those diaper pails take plastic bags (kinda) to store the waste.  The bad thing (environmentally speaking) is that you twist and twist and twist (using more and more and more platic) until you have that diaper all closed up inside the plastic and ready for the next stinky poo.  You already have a trash can with a large plastic bag why waste more plastic to seal the poo in?  If you really have a stinky poo that you don’t want to mix with the regular trash bag you can always REUSE a grocery bag to seal in the smell before you toss it.  For now we’ll just continue to add it to our regular trash.

Side note:  Little B almost fits into her Bum Genius’…they are all washed up and ready to go.  I’ll let you know how our transition goes.

You do make it sound nicer by saying “stinky poo”.
