First I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas (a day late) or whatever other holiday your family celebrates. We had a nice holiday with family and friends and Santa was very nice to each of us. We tried to go ‘lite’ this year with presents and somehow my son still managed to be S-P-O-I-L-E-D rotten with stuff.
How GREEN was your holiday? Ours wasn’t all that green actually. I found out on Christmas Eve that I may have preclampsia so the doctor told me to take it easy…and let others do the cooking and cleaning on Christmas. So I did just that! All the wrapping paper got trashed…no one recycled their soda cans…I’m sure all the steel cans (from the yams and green beans) got trashed…and who knows what else I missed by having to rest! The only thing that did get recycled was all the boxes (thanks to my rockin friends)! But considering my condition and the fact that I had no control over things I can’t really complain. My dear sweet hubby did almost all the cooking and managed to keep the house clean…so that was a feat in itself!
So now what? A new year is right around the corner which is a great time to make new commitments and renew your current commitments to the environment. My new commitments are going to be baby related…with this child arriving anytime in the next 3 weeks! I’m still going to be trying the cloth diapers; that’s my major commitment for 2009! If I can make that work than this babies impact on the environment will be much less than normal.
What about you? What are you planning for 2009? How green was your 2008?
